Hunter Twp, WI : Hayward football coach dies in car crash in Sawyer County on Wednesday, Sep 2, 2015

A football coach with the Hayward Hurricanes has died after rolling his pickup in Sawyer County.
Authorities say Darth Winkler, originally from Illinois, went off the road Wednesday and hit some trees in the town of Hunter.

The 22-year-old was pronounced dead on scene.
Hayward Head Coach Brian Trettin said Thursday the football program is deeply sorry for Winkler's family.
"Coach Winkler was a positive addition to our staff. He built strong relationships and was a fantastic role model for our athletes. Darth's charisma and integrity is what set himself apart as not only a football coach, but an inspiring human being," Trettin said in a statement.
Winkler was an outstanding high school and college football player.
