A high speed chase that began early on Thursday morning in Davidson County came to a crashing end in Rowan County.
According to the report, early on Thursday, deputies with the Rowan Sheriff’s Office received information that the Davidson Co. Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle that had been reported by Kannapolis Police.
The information was that the vehicle was driven by Victor Albrecht, and the car was described as a black Volkswagen GTI.
Deputies in Rowan County were told that the Davidson County deputies had lost sight of the car on I-85 South.
Several deputies were positioned at the south bound on-ramp at Long Ferry Rd. Those deputies say they spotted the VW traveling in excess of 100 mph, heading south.
The car’s lights were off, according to deputies.
