Independence, MO : Man died in a one-car crash on Interstate 70 near Concordia early Saturday evening, April 2, 2016

An Independence man died in a one-car crash on Interstate 70 over the weekend.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened early Saturday evening near Concordia, Missouri. Ryan M. Scott, 37, was driving a 2000 Ford Taurus and went off the freeway and hit a tree. The car caught fire and landed in a creekbed.
In another wreck, about 3 p.m. Sunday, two Independence residents were hurt. It happened at Missouri 45 and National Drive near Parkville. The Highway Patrol says a 2003 Jeep driven by Aurora E. Nelson, 17, of Westwood, Kansas, went into the path of a 2013 Harley-Davidson driven by Michael R. Morgan, 37. He sustained moderate injuries, according to the Highway Patrol, and his passenger, Teresa L. Morgan, 52, sustained minor injuries.
