Fond Du Lac, WI : 30-year-old women injured in two-vehicle crash on Highway 23 in Fond du Lac County on Thursday, April 23, 2015

A 30-year-old Fond du Lac woman is hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on April 23 that occurred along Highway 23 in Fond du Lac County.

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a car accident shortly after 4 p.m. on Thursday on Highway 23 at Tower Road in the town of Empire.

Initial reports indicate the women was traveling west on Highway 23 when she reared-ended a pick-up truck traveling in front of her, operated by a 52-year-old Fond du Lac man who had been waiting to turn south on Tower Road.

The woman was extricated from her vehicle and transported to St. Agnes Hospital with serious injuries, according to Sgt. Eric Halbach.

Assisting at the scene were Mount Calvary Fire Department and Ambulance.

Inattentive driving is believed to be a factor in the crash.
