AUSTIN, TX : Cyclist injured in downtown Austin crash on Friday, September 22nd 2017
A bicyclist is in the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in downtown Austin early Friday morning.
The crash happened at the corner of Fifth and Nueces Streets around 2:30 a.m. Austin police say the driver stayed at the scene.
A KXAN crew says the minivan involved in the crash had a Lyft emblem on it but it’s not known at this time if the driver was on the clock or had a passenger in the vehicle.
Austin Travis County EMS says the cyclist’s injuries are not expected to be life-threatening. It is unclear if the cyclist was wearing a helmet.
