Traffic Crash On The Laurel near Somerset Kentucky

This morning just before 8:00, State Police were called to a two vehicle accident on Kentucky 80 west of London at the Laurel - Pulaski County line.Police say a white, 1996, Jeep Cherokee SUV was traveling eastbound when it went out of control on the ice covered bridge, crossed the center line and struck a tractor trailer.

The driver of the SUV, Suzan Whitaker, 53, of Somerset, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling. The driver of the tractor trailer was checked out at a hospital just as a precaution.
