New Castle, PA : Woman injured in Shenango crash on Saturday evening, August 6, 2016
A woman is hospitalized after a crash involving three vehicles Saturday evening in Shenango Township.
According to reports from the scene, a woman whose name was not immediately available was headed toward New Castle on Route 65 about 5:10 p.m. when she apparently lost consciousness at the point where the road narrows from four lanes to two. Her Ford Escape crossed the highway, went through a grassy area and struck a boat on a trailer, which was being offered for sale.
The front end of the trailer then struck a panel truck.
The woman reportedly was still unconscious when emergency responders arrived on the scene. Initially, a medical helicopter was asked to stand by, but the woman ended up being transported by Medevac ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. Her condition was not available.
Shenango Township police and fire also responded to the crash scene.
