ATHENS, AL : A Lauderdale County woman was killed in a three-car accident on U.S. 72 on Wednesday, December, 20th 2017

A Lauderdale County woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a three-car accident on U.S. 72, just west of Athens, officials said.

Troopers said Pamela Price Alvarado, 38, Rogersville, was killed in the crash that happened at 1 p.m.

Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel, a public information officer with the Decatur Troopers Post, said the victim was driving a Buick Park Avenue traveling west on U.S. 72, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Nissan Sentra. A Ford F-150 truck was also involved.

He said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Daniel said four others were injured. Two were flown to Huntsville Hospital, and two were transported by ambulance.

He said the crash occurred on U.S. 72 five miles west of Athens.

The accident remains under investigation by the Decatur State Troopers Post.
