Driver killed in crash on beltway, both directions now open

The Nevada Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal crash on the 215 beltway in the northern part of the Las Vegas Valley.
It happened just before 10 a.m. Tuesday.NHP said a Nevada Ready Mix cement truck was traveling east on the beltway near Jones. The driver lost control for unknown reasons.
The truck then struck construction barriers and flipped onto its side and caught fire.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.NHP said the truck was fully loaded and was headed to a construction site.A construction worker told Action News they tried bringing a water truck over to the scene to extinguish the flames, but couldn't save the driver.
NHP is now looking for witnesses of the crash to help determine what exactly happened.
"We're looking at every option. We're interviewing witnesses, some that were on the construction scene. We're hoping that some people may have been driving by and saw it and can call the highway patrol with any information and we'll piece these pieces of the puzzle together and come up with an answer," said Trooper Jeremie Elliott.

The beltway was closed between Jones Boulevard and Sky Pointe Drive for most of the day while crews investigated.
The freeway reopened around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening. The Clark County Coroner will release the name of the driver after relatives have been notified.
