ALGONQUIN, IL : Two people killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday, July 9, 2017

The McHenry County coroner has identified two people killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening.

David A. Erickson, 59, of Crystal Lake and passenger Tiffany G. Eisner, 43, of Lake in the Hills died because of injuries suffered in the Sunday evening crash on the Route 31 Algonquin bypass north of Route 62, according to a news release from the coroner's office.At 5:07 p.m. Sunday, Algonquin police responded to a crash involving a BMW motorcycle that had been traveling north on Route 31 before it struck the raised median and went into the southbound lanes. The motorcycle struck a light pole on the west side of the road, according to a news release from the Algonquin Police Department.

Erickson and Eisner suffered fatal injuries as a result. The coroner has scheduled autopsies for Tuesday, according to the release.

Algonquin police and the coroner's office are investigating the crash.
