Daytona Beach, FL : Motorist sought in fatal hit-and-run crash on Sunday, January 18, 2015

A search was underway Sunday after a fatal hit-and-run crash in Daytona Beach.
Authorities said the crash happened at Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard and South Street about 12:45 a.m.

Investigators said a Toyota Corolla being driven by Denzil Sykes, 27, of Daytona Beach, was stopped when a Mercedes-Benz hit the rear of his car.

Sykes was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the driver of the Mercedes fled on foot and has not been found.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Daytona Beach Police Department.
