PHOENIX, AZ : Man dead after crash in east Phoenix on Saturday, 9th December 2023

A man has died after a crash in east Phoenix on Saturday evening.

The crash happened near 40th Street and Thomas Road around 5:30 p.m. Phoenix police say officers arrived at the scene and found one driver, 55-year-old John Ybarra, seriously injured. However, he died at the scene.

It is unknown how many vehicles were involved in the crash or if any other injuries were reported. The area of 40th Street and Thomas Road was shut down but reopened later in the evening. The investigation is ongoing. Click/tap here for the First Alert Traffic map.
