At least one person was killed after a vehicle veered off Interstate 8 in the Alpine area and crashed.

The single-vehicle rollover crash was reported just before 5:30 p.m. near the 400 block of Peutz Valley Road, according to authorities.

Authorities said the vehicle, for reasons not yet known, drove off westbound I-8, rolled over and came to rest on someone's property.

Two other people -- one of them an infant -- were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, authorities said. The other occupants suffered injuries of unknown severity.
