A 32-year-old Wauwatosa man was killed Friday night in a six-vehicle crash on Interstate 94, authorities said.

Marcos M. Cortez was driving the wrong way without headlights on near Hawley Road around 8 p.m., according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department.

Cortez’s 1993 BMW entered I-94 from the General Mitchell Boulevard off ramp at 8:06 p.m., authorities said. He traveled west in the eastbound lanes and crashed head-on into a 2013 BMW.

Four other vehicles were involved in secondary crashes. Two people suffered minor injuries.

Cortez was pronounced dead at the scene. The three people in the car he struck were not seriously injured.

Eastbound lanes were closed until 12:48 a.m.

Two people were also injured in a crash Friday evening in the Mitchell Interchange.

A vehicle hit a wall near I-94 and Layton.

A 6-year-old treated for a head injury and a woman suffered a broken leg.
