Salisbury,NC : One person killed in two-vehicle crash in Salisbury on June, Tuesday 20th 2017

One person was killed in a crash in Rowan County Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.

The wreck happened near the intersection of Faith Road and Jake Alexander Boulevard in Salisbury at around 2:20 pm. Two pick-up trucks were involved.

The driver of one of the trucks told police that he entered the intersection on a green light, and that a driver of a Ford F-150 truck came through the intersection where they collided.

The driver, Andrew Robert Culp of Gold Hill, said that he applied his brakes, but could not avoid the crash. The passenger in Mr. Culp’s vehicle, Larry Clifford Shaver Jr., also stated that they had the green light and tried to avoid hitting the other vehicle. Neither Mr. Culp nor Mr. Shaver sustained any injuries.

Police said that Culp’s truck careened into an electric pole, and Duke Energy was called to cut the power to get the driver and the passenger out of the vehicle.

The other vehicle, the Ford F-150 truck, continued after the crash over the curbing and came to rest in the yard of the Thrivent Financial business office. The driver of the Ford truck was ejected from the vehicle, and law enforcement on the scene attempted CPR, but could not revive him.
