Cleveland police say a stolen minivan driven by a 14-year-old boy sped past a red light, collided with a car and hit a utility pole, killing a teenage passenger who was thrown from the van.

Police say the young driver and another passenger in the minivan were taken to a hospital with serious injuries after the Sunday afternoon crash.

The Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH'-guh) County Medical Examiner's office identified the teenager who died as 17-year-old Willie Workman, of Cleveland. He died at the scene.

The car driver wasn't seriously hurt.
