WEST MILFORD, WV : Patient flown after motorcycle accident on Saturday, March 25th 2017

A motorcyclist was flown by medical helicopter to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital after an accident that occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, according to scanner reports.

A single motorcycle was involved in an accident on U.S. 19 near the Lewis County line, according to a Harrison-Taylor 911 Center operator.

The West Milford Volunteer Fire Department, Lost Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Anmoore EMS all responded to the scene.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating. No further details were available at press time.

CHARLESTON (AP) — Former Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship has been moved to a halfway house as he nears the completion of his federal prison sentence.

The Charleston Gazette-Mail reports that Blankenship has been placed in a halfway house in Phoenix, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons website.

Blankenship, who turned 67 on March 14, was previously doing his time at Correctional Institute Taft near Bakersfield, California.

It was not immediately clear when Blankenship was moved.

He is serving a one-year sentence after he was convicted of conspiring to violate federal mine safety standards at Massey’s Upper Big Branch Mine, where 29 workers died in a 2010 explosion.

Blankenship is scheduled to be released from custody on May 10. He must also serve one year of supervised release.
