A 64-year-old Holland-area farmer was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a farming accident.
Holland Police Chief Shawn Newsom, who also is a paramedic, went to a field about 2 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of State Highway 95 and Roberts Road.
He said he found the victim, who was alert and talking, but had very serious injuries. Newsom said he quickly applied two tourniquets because the victim was injured from head to toe.
The farmer somehow managed to get caught between the tractor and the plow and was run over by the plow.
Also responding to the incident were Holland and Bartlett volunteer fire departments. The farmer was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Temple. His current condition is not available at this time.
