AMITY, PA : Driver crashes into tattoo shop off Route 422 in Amity on Thursday, 31st January 2019
A female driver was taken to the hospital after a crash into a Route 422 building that left her trapped inside the vehicle.
At around noon Thursday, the driver of an SUV lost control while going eastbound on Route 422, according to reports from the scene.
The vehicle hit a utility pole and continued 300 feet through the snow and across both lanes of Monocacy Creek Road. It then struck an embankment and went airborne before hitting a building on the corner of Route 422 and Limekiln Road.
The driver of the vehicle, who police say was a 72-year-old woman from Exeter, was trapped before being rescued by Monocacy and Amity firefighters, according to Amity Police Chief Jeffrey Smith, who was at the scene.
