Two local men suffered minor injuries in a head-on crash that occurred just after 6 a.m. today in Walker Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown.
Police said a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera driven by 32-year-old Jeremy M. Leach, of Mifflintown, was traveling on Cedar Springs Road when Leach attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone. As Leach began to pass the other vehicle, Leach saw a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 51-year-old Gregory C. Minium, of Honey Grove, coming in the opposite direction.
Police said Leach lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway, but as Minium saw Leach’s vehicle coming, Minium also turned off the roadway in an attempt to avoid a collision. It was at this time that the two vehicles collided head-on, disabling both vehicles.
Police said Leach will be charged with attempting a careless pass and that both drivers were wearing seat belts.
