A 30-year-old Fruita man was killed in an ATV crash Monday morning in Garfield County apparently while on his way home from camping, according to a press release.
The man – who has not been identified pending the results of a coroner’s exam and notification of family members – seemed to have lost control of the ATV he was driving on a switchback about 13 miles up County Road 243, according to the release from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office. He was ejected from the ATV, which landed on him.
He was discovered later, and deputies responded to the scene, the release said.
