San Diego, CA : 1 person hurt in crash on SB SR-163 in the Hillcrest area Friday afternoon on June 27, 2014

One person was hurt in a crash involving a motorcycle and car that blocked lanes on southbound state Route 163 in the Hillcrest area Friday afternoon.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. on southbound SR-163 at Washington Street, and the California Highway Patrol said the incident happened in the No. 1 lane.

All lanes were blocked and a Sig Alert was issued as emergency crews responded to the collision. Traffic was backed up on south SR-163 to just past Interstate 8 in Mission Valley.

At about 6 p.m., the scene was cleared and all lanes were reopened.

The injured person was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
