Pedestrian hit on Highway 41 near Dalton,Georgia
A pedestrian sustained leg and other injuries after being struck by a car Saturday evening in Dalton, Ga., police said.According to Dalton police spokesman Bruce Frazier, the accident happened on U.S. Highway 41 near the Motel 6 at the intersection of Tibbs Road just before 6 p.m.
Traffic investigators said the pedestrian stepped into the roadway in front of a northbound Toyota Prius.
The Prius driver stopped and was interviewed by investigators, Frazier said.The pedestrian was alert and conscious, Frazier said, and was taken to Hamilton Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.Northbound traffic on Highway 41 was closed after the incident and one northbound lane remained closed until shortly before 8 p.m., he said.
