Cullman,AL : Alcohol possible factor in wreck that killed CHS student on may, sunday 7th 2017

Alabama State Troopers said a preliminary investigation indicates alcohol may have played a role in the wreck that killed a 15-year-old Cullman High School student and injured two others Sunday.

Curtis James Wilson, 15, died in the three-vehicle wreck that also hurt his mother, Ashley Wilson, 43, who was driving and a second driver, Bradford Meeks, 27, of Cullman.

Troopers said they are investigating the circumstances of the wreck and they didn't elaborate on which driver may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Both Wilson and her son were wearing seat belts, but Meeks was not, Alabama State Troopers reported Monday morning. A third driver was not injured.

Ashley Wilson was treated and released from Cullman Regional, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Meeks was listed in serious condition at UAB Hospital, according to a hospital spokesman.
