EL PASO COUNTY, CO : Both directions of I-25 reopened near Fountain after a crash shut the roadway down on Monday, 4th March 2024
A crash involving a double-decker car carrier and a pickup truck closed down both north- and south-bound lanes of I-25 near Fountain Monday night, March 4.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the car carrier hauling multiple Tesla vehicles was traveling northbound on I-25 when it collided with the barrier on the right side of the road. The driver then overcorrected causing the car carrier to swerve and collide with the barrier separating the north and southbound lanes.
The car carrier crossed over to the southbound lanes hitting a Ford F-350 headed southbound. The car carrier then rolled over on its side hitting a Chevy Silverado causing serious injuries to the 44-year-old driver. He was transported to the hospital and is being treated for those injuries.
