Salt Lake City, UT : Utah woman killed by struck SUV on cross a state highway at night Friday October 16 2015
A Utah woman trying to cross a state highway at night was hit and killed by an SUV.
Utah Highway Patrol says the woman was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee near Roosevelt around 8 p.m. Thursday.
Highway patrol Lt. Brett Gehring told the Deseret News that a Duchesne County sheriff's deputy arrived just as the woman was hit. The deputy was responding to calls about a person walking in the road.
Troopers are trying to identify the woman and figure out whether she was intoxicated.
The woman died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not injured and police have not issued any citations.
