Sacramento, CA : Arnold man seriously hurt in Highway 4 crash on Thursday, 6th October 2016
A 30-year-old Arnold man was seriously injured about 7 p.m. Thursday when the car he was driving veered off Highway 4 near Avery and collided with a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Zachary J. Anglin was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries. The CHP said he was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of driving under the influence, but was left in the custody of the hospital in order to treat his injuries.
The CHP said Anglin was driving west on Highway 4 near Horseshow Drive at about 35 to 40 miles per hour when he made a sudden turn to the right for “an unknown reason.” Anglin’s 2000 Toyota XTerra veered onto the shoulder of the road, sideswiped a tree and then ran head on into another tree, the CHP said.
