A 32-year-old Grand Forks man was killed in a three-vehicle crash east of Detroit Lakes yesterday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Timothy Allen Lee was driving a Hyundai Elantra westbound on Highway 34 when he crossed over the centerline, sideswiping a Chevy Silverado and then crashing head-on into a Volvo that were both traveling eastbound.
The driver of the Volvo, 32-year-old Kathryn Mary Mulcahy, of St. Louis Park, Minn., was transported to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol reports.
Joyce Arlene Warling, age 68, of Lake Park, Minn., who was driving the Silverado, was not injured.
The patrol reports that Lee was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The crash occurred at 1:55 p.m. in Erie Township. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene, along with several ambulance crews, fire crews, and other law enforcement officials.
