WINCHENDON, MA : New Hampshire woman killed in Winchendon crashon Thursday, December, 28th 2017

Winchendon, Massachusetts, officials said a Winchester, New Hampshire woman was killed in a head-on accident Thursday morning.

Police said the crash happened at about 9 a.m. in the area of 363 School Street.

When first responders arrived they found 32-year-old Lindsey Sheldon unconscious in a Honda CRV.

The front seat passenger, 32-year-old Christine Bemis, also of Winchester, and Sheldon's 3-year-old daughter were brought to UMass Hospital in Worcester and are expected to recover.

The people in the Mercedes van involved in the accident were also taken to a hospital and are expected to recover.

Police said Sheldon died from her injuries.

Police said their investigation suggests that the Honda CRV was traveling northbound and crashed into the Mercedes van when it crossed the center line.

Police said they found drug paraphernalia and suspected heroin in the CRV but an investigation is ongoing into what actually caused the crash.
