Lorain County, OH : Motorcyclist dies after Lorain crash on Saturday, August 6, 2016
A motorcyclist has died after he was struck by a car at the intersection of Meister Road and Sherwood Drive on Aug. 6, according to police.
Anthony Davis, 28, of Lorain, was traveling on his black 1991 Honda motorcycle when he was struck by a 58-year-old woman driving a 2014 Kia Soul, according to a press release from the Lorain Police Department.
The woman had failed to yield to oncoming traffic and struck Davis’ motorcycle sending him flying into the roadway, the release said.
The woman was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. Davis, who was wearing a helmet, received fatal injuries and was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, the release said.
According to the release, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, and the matter has been referred to the Lorain County Coroner’s office as well.
