Lubbock, TX : One person dead, others injured and and Man Arrested After Car Crash in Lubbock on Sunday Morning, February 15, 2015

A man is jailed facing multiple charges after police say he was driving drunk and caused a wreck that killed a woman and injured others. This happened at 82nd Street and Indiana Avenue early Sunday morning.

Investigators say Carlos Tovar, 21, was speeding south and crashed into a car stopped at the red light with four people inside. He then tried to run away but was caught by officers.

Amanda Gonzales, 32, was killed. The other rear passenger in the stopped car, Tina Ramos, 31, has life-threatening injuries. Driver Jonathan Davila, 32, has moderate injuries, Xavier Martinez, 22, has minor injuries. Tovar has minor injuries.

Tovar is being held at the Lubbock County Detention Center on the following charges: intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, aggravated assault and failure to stop and render aid.
