Phoenix, AZ : Woman accused of using drugs, causing fatal crash on Thursday, August 28, 2014

A 25-year-old Arizona woman is facing manslaughter and drug charges after she allegedly ran a red light while she was on drugs and caused a fatal crash, according to police. Authorities said Sarah Ramos drove through a red light on U.S. 60 eastbound about 7 a.m. Thursday and slammed into the driver's side door of another vehicle. The driver, Christine Gearhart, 51, died in the crash. Emergency responders said as they were trying get Ramos out of the car, she was trying to get something under her seat. Detectives found a drug pipe under her seat. Detectives said Ramos had signs of impairment. She was arrested on one count of reckless manslaughter and one count of drug paraphernalia possession.
