AMBERG, WI : Amberg man dies in ATV crash on Monday, 30th September 2024

An Amberg man died on his ATV after striking several trees, the Marinette County sheriff reported Monday.

The crash was reported after 8:30 Sunday morning on Old 38 Road, just north of Dow Dam Rd. The caller said the victim was already dead.

Investigators say Devon R. Cotter Nutt, 31, failed to negotiate the curve on Old 38 Road, hit a ditch, and then struck the trees. He wasn’t wearing a helmet, and the sheriff says it appears alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the sheriff’s office, and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
