A two vehicle crash followed by a spillage of 80 gallons of diesel fuel closed a portion of M-46 in Gratiot County for nearly nine hoursThe Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to M-46 and Warner Road for a report of a two vehicle crash at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25.
The sheriff’s office said the preliminary investigation indicated a pickup truck headed southbound on Warner Road failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into a tractor trailer headed westbound.
The crash caused the semi to jackknife and leave the roadway, which caused the trailer to unhook from the tractor and roll on its side, the sheriff’s office said.
The driver of the pickup, a 30-year-old Mt. Pleasant man, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, the sheriff’s office said.
