Jefferson City, MO : Two injured during three vehicle crash on Missouri River Bridge on Monday morning, December 26, 2016
Two people were injured during a three-vehicle crash on the Missouri River Bridge in Jefferson City late Monday morning.
According to Jefferson City Police Sergeant Doug Ruediger, a 2004 Lincoln Town Car driven by Patricia Bratcher ran out of gas in the driving lane. A 2002 GMC Envoy driven by Michael Williams was driving toward the Lincoln when he studdenly stopped and was rear-ended by a 2016 Ford Van driven by Theodore Cox of Jefferson City.
A ladder from atop the Ford van slid off the vehicle and struck the back of the disabled car officers said.
The driver and passenger in the Envoy were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
All four people involved in the crash were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Traffic was backed up for nearly an hour while crews worked to clear the roadway.
