HOBE SOUND, FL : Palm Beach Gardens woman killed on Interstate 95 in Martin County on Sunday, 22nd March, 2020

A 23-year-old Palm Beach Gardens woman was killed and a 22-year-old Loxahatchee woman was injured when their car rear-ended an 18-wheeler on Interstate 95 in Martin County on Sunday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Bailey Theel died and Charlotte Rogers suffered minor injuries in the crash, which occurred at about 7 p.m. Sunday near the Bridge Road exit near Hobe Sound.

According to the report, Rogers was driving a 2012 Ford Mustang south in a middle lane on the expressway when “for unknown reasons” its right front struck the rear of a 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was in the outside lane.

Theel, Rogers’ passenger, was killed, the report said. It said Rogers was treated at Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital in Stuart.
