JACKSON COUNTY, AL : Woman killed in Jackson Co. wreck on Friday, 16th February 2024

A 77-year-old woman was killed after a two-vehicle wreck on Friday.

Lila F. Lay, 77, was driving a Ford pick-up, without a seatbelt on, when she struck the back of an SUV driven by Charles C. Baker, 33, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The crash occurred just north of Flat Rock along Alabama 71.

Lay was transported to the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she died on Saturday.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is still investigating the situation.
