KILLINGTON, VT : Killington crash results in fatality on Monday, March 20th 2017

Police say a Massachusetts man was killed in a one-car crash early Saturday on Tanglewood Drive.

Rescue workers responded to the crash at the intersection with Gina Drive around 1:40 a.m.

Stephen Driscoll, 25, of Bedford, New Hampshire, was driving northeast in a 2000 Ford sedan at about 1:40 a.m. and was unable to handle the right turn onto Gina Drive, Vermont State Police said, going off the road and into a tree.

Police said Driscoll and his passenger, Alejandro Phoenix, 30, of Rockland, Massachusetts, were trapped in the car for a short time. Driscoll suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police, and was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Police said Phoenix suffered a significant head injury and died at the scene.
