Houston, TX : One person is dead after a car crash in north Houston on early Saturday morning October 25th 2014

One person is dead following after a car crash earlier Saturday morning in north Houston. Authorities received a call at 8:27 a.m. of a major traffic accident at Bammel North Houston Road and the north Sam Houston Parkway, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Officers arriving at the scene found one woman dead, authorities said. Investigators learned that the woman, who has not yet been identified, was driving a 1997 Toyota sedan south on Bammel, and allegedly failed to stop for a red light. She crossed into the path of a 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup, which struck the car's side. The Traffic Enforcement Division of the Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
