Newburg, MO : Three teens hurt in 1-vehicle crash on State Highway T, south of Newburg on Monday afternoon, April 4, 2016
Three Newburg teenagers were hurt in a one-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Travis M. McWilliams, 16, was driving a 1991 Jeep Wrangler northbound on State Highway T, 2 miles south of Newburg, at about 2 p.m.
The patrol states that the Jeep went off the right side of the road, and McWilliams overcorrected. The Jeep then went off the left side of the road and struck a ditch.
McWilliams suffered minor injuries in the crash. Two passengers in the Jeep also were hurt. Jadyn E. Gilbert, 14, suffered serious injuries, and Jake G. Gilbert, 15, suffered moderate injuries.
Jadyn Gilbert was flown to Cox Hospital in Springfield, while Jake Gilbert and McWilliams were transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.
McWilliams was wearing a seat belt, but the two passengers were not, according to the patrol.
There was extensive damage to the Jeep.
