Police say a 16-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car as she attempted to cross a busy intersection in Queens.

Police say the driver fled the scene after striking the girl at Francis Lewis Boulevard and Sunrise Highway early Wednesday.

The teen was rushed to a hospital where she died.

Her name was withheld pending family notification.

The investigation is continuing.
