TIFTON, GA : Two teens killed in I-75 accident on Sunday, 18th August 2019

wo Tifton teenagers were killed early Sunday morning when the dirt bike they were riding on was struck from behind.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Scott Rigby, the two teens, identified as Alexis Skye West, 15, and Alexis May Robinson, 16, both of Tifton, were traveling south on I-75 at around 3 a.m. Sunday when they were struck from behind by a Honda Element traveling 72 miles per hour.

The accident occurred on the interstate in the north part of Cook County.

Rigby said that the dirt bike didn’t have head lights, tail lights or brake lights, the teens were not wearing any reflective gear and that only one was wearing a helmet.

Rigby said that while they have not received lab work back yet, there is no reason to believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the accident. There are no charges being filed at this time.

Robinson was a student at Tift County High School.
