Cortland,NY : Driver injured after crashing into gas station pumps in Cortland County on January, Wednesday 17th 2018
Cortland County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a vehicle crashed into gas pumps late Wednesday, leaving the driver critically injured.
The crash happened around 10 p.m. at the Red Apple gas station on Route 13 in Cortlandville. A Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by a 42-year-old man, struck and damaged gas pumps, but an employee was able to shut them down to prevent further problems and gas leaks, according to deputies.
The driver had been involved in a domestic dispute before the crash, deputies said, and he allegedly struck a woman with the Cherokee as he left the residence where the dispute happened. Deputies said the woman suffered a minor leg injury.
The Cherokee's driver was taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, where he was listed in stable condition.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sgt. John Gallagher, 607-758-5562, at the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office
