Springfield, IL : Tallula man killed in Illinois 97 crash on Monday, 19th November 2018
Authorities on Monday identified the 60-year-old Tallula man who died after a two-vehicle crash morning on Illinois 97 just west of Springfield.
David Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards said. An autopsy performed Monday showed the preliminary cause of death to be injuries suffered in the crash.
Illinois State Police said a 2015 Hyundai Azera driven by a 36-year-old woman from Pleasant Plains was westbound at 8:16 a.m. Saturday just west of Lincoln Trail when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Daniel.
A 1-year-old girl was a passenger in the Azera, and a 60-year-old woman from Pleasant Plains was riding in the Caravan. Illinois State Police have not provided an update on the condition of the other three people involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
