Kersey, CO : Three people injured afte a Head-on crash near Kersey on Wednesday night, April 20, 2016

A head-on crash near Kersey between two pickup trucks sent three people to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries Wednesday night.

At about 9 p.m. Wednesday, authorities responded to the head-on crash near Weld County Roads 49 and 50, a little more than two miles southwest of Kersey, said Weld County Sheriff’s spokesman Cpl. Matt Turner.

A 2001 Dodge pickup and a 2005 Ford pickup crashed, sending both drivers and a passenger to North Colorado Medical Center. The Dodge driver was identified as Julio Carvajal-Cuesta, 26, and the Ford driver was William Degroot, 49, said Colorado State Patrol spokesman Trooper Josh Lewis. The passenger was not identified.

The crash is still under investigation, but neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected in the incident, Lewis said.
