Denver, CO : Greeley woman identified in crash police say was caused by medical condition on Monday, November 21st 2016
The Weld County Coroner's office released the name of a woman who died in a traffic crash Monday night. Police believe a medical condition caused the crash.
According to a news release from the coroner's office, the woman was Becky LaPort, 47, of Greeley.
Sgt. Rafael Gutierrez of the Greeley Police Department said LaPort was driving her Hyundai about 9 p.m. in the 5200 block of 1st Street when she lost control of the car and veered to the left side of the road. She crashed into a parked truck nearby, and her Hyundai kept rolling, eventually coming to a stop against a garage at 5325 1st St. in Greeley, he said.
No one was in the truck and the garage was not damaged, according to Gutierrez. Sgt. Rafael Gutierrez said Tuesday LaPort's body showed no signs of trauma, and police believe a medical problem may have caused her to lose control of her car.
The coroner's office and the police are still investigating the crash.
