FLORENCE, AL : Lauderdale Co Deputy woman killed in wreck on Florence Blvd on Tuesday, 7th May 2024

A man and woman are dead following a wreck that led to a portion of Florence Blvd. to be closed on Tuesday afternoon.

Lauderdale County Coroner Kim Jones identified the male victim as Lauderdale County Deputy David Terry.

Officials confirmed that Terry served for over 20 years with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office. Over the last year, he served as the Director of Corrections.

Terry, who was off-duty at the time of the crash, was set to retire from the sheriff’s office in July. He leaves behind a wife and three children.
