GRANBY, MA : 2 drivers hurt in head-on crash in Granby on Thursday, December, 14th 2017

Granby firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate one driver following a head-on crash Thursday afternoon on Chicopee Street.
Granby Police Chief Alan Wishart said two people were taken to local hospitals following the 2 p.m. crash.

Authorities were called to the scene near 239 Chicopee St. after a 2012 Honda sedan driven by Diana Weldon of Belchertown crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a Jeep driven by Erik Binczewski of Bondsville. The cause of the crash was unclear.

The road was closed for over 90 minutes as emergency workers rendered aid to the injured.

Along with fire and police personnel from Granby, firefighters from South Hadley Fire District One and troopers from the Massachusetts State Police barracks at Belchertown responded to the scene.
