Tuscaloosa, AL : Tow truck driver struck, killed at wreck site on I-20/59 on Saturday, December 10th 2016
A two truck operator was struck and killed while working at an accident site on Interstate 20/59 Saturday morning.
Three others were hospitalized with injuries.
John William Hubbard, 25, was working an accident in which a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer and 2012 Toyota Highlander had collided near the 74-mile marker at 5:55 a.m., according to Alabama State Troopers.
Sheridan Temms, 29, of Tuscaloosa was driving north when he struck the Mitsubishi, trooper said, causing it to strike Hubbard.
Temms, who was driving a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, was injured and taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, along with Mitsubishi driver Brenisha Hicks, 36, of Tuscaloosa.
Hubbard, of Bessemer, was also taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Interstate traffic in the northbound lanes was stopped for about an hour and a half Saturday morning while crews cleared the scene and troopers began an investigation.
