State police say a 32-year-old Providence man has died after his sport utility vehicle overturned on a highway off-ramp.

Police said Martin Florez was driving southbound on Route 10 Friday night when he lost control of his 1999 Toyota 4Runner on the Union Avenue exit ramp.

Police said the SUV struck a grassy embankment, rolled over and hit two other cars that were stopped in traffic before coming to rest on its roof.

Florez was thrown out of his vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11 p.m. accident. No one else was hurt.

Police said he wasn't wearing a seatbelt and speed may have been a factor in the crash, which is still being investigated.
